Dooleys Lidcombe is one of those rare gems that manages to balance classic pub vibes with a surprising amount of charm and community spirit. Whether you’re after a hearty feed, a relaxed catch-up with friends, or just a spot to unwind, this place absolutely delivers. I’ve been coming here on and off for years, and it’s always been a reliable go-to for late-night hangs. There’s something comforting about knowing there’s a place nearby where the kitchen’s open, the drinks are flowing, and the welcome’s warm—no matter the hour. On our most recent visit, we were lucky enough to catch a live band and even some line dancing—yes, line dancing! And honestly? It gave the whole evening a surprisingly vibrant and fun twist. The atmosphere was buzzing, the crowd was lively (but still family-friendly), and it just felt like the kind of night you didn’t want to rush home from. The food is classic pub fare done right—think generous portions, consistent quality, and something for everyone. Whether you’re in the mood for schnitty and chips, a burger, or something a little fancier, you’ll find it on the menu. And with plenty of seating, it’s easy to find a cosy corner or join the livelier crowd near the stage. What really makes Dooleys stand out, though, is its role as a community hub. It’s more than just a venue—it’s hosted birthdays, late-night chats, casual reunions, and spontaneous weekend plans for so many of us over the years. Grateful for a spot like this in Lidcombe. It’s classic, it’s comfortable, and it still knows how to surprise you every now and then. Long live the line dancing!
It was my first time to visit Dooley's in Lidcombe and it did not disappoint. We signed up and the gentleman was very helpful and friendly. The Vietnamese restaurant had some good selection in the menu. The food was good that we had to go back again the following day with friends! The Bistro also had some nice selections of cake. There are other places we wanted to try, so we can't wait to go back.
We go to Trivia which is great fun. There's adequate parking and it's an easy walk from the train station. The food is quite good. I especially enjoy the British fish and chips and the roasts. Given the price difference between members and guests, you are better off joining. Too many poker machines in my humble opinion but it is a club.
Decent place for a quick lunch and ok coffee and cake. The Asian restaurant upstairs is pretty good for food. The rest is regular club fare.
